Private Yoga and musings…

Another Shiatsu post is due, the last one explored the 5 Element theory that is used to create an appropriate massage treatment. That will be added soon, but today I continued to wait-wait for a new rug. It’s not coming till Thursday, so some appointments have been put on hold. Though I am seeing clients for one on one yoga sessions; the wood floor and yoga mats works fine for that, thankfully! A private yoga session lasts one hour, and it’s appropriate if you are not comfortable in group classes for a variety of reasons. Primarily clients have taken private yoga with me because they like the focused attention, they might be older or brand new to yoga. In addition some clients are very busy and like to have someone come to their home, on their schedule. But usually it’s because there is some “limitation,” perhaps recovery from illness, or a chronic illness. In any case a gentle yoga routine can be developed and then done at home. It’s good to check in often and come in again as the practice develops-as it can then be adjusted. That is how yoga was taught in India, the student would go to the teachers home, weekly or so and they would be guided individually through their practice. So unlike a class, there are no feelings of competition or comparison with the skinny pretzel woman in the front row!

So decorating continues-a lovely Shiatsu Dummy poster, was added. He’s not dumb, just a very lifelike dummy, with the meridians and points drawn all over him. Also more plants-small ivy, bamboo, and a bigger philedendron. And the last important thing will be the piece in the previous post that I’m working on for the space. All 3 panels need to be sew to the beautiful tapestry fabric, then attached to stretcher frames. The final bit will be applying a protective varnish to the painted portion, and some collage elements (beads or bits of copper) to add a sense of three dimensionality.
