Overcoming Anxiety: Quick Tip# 2

As always I start by mentioning gratitiude, see Quick Tip #1 for brief technique on gratitude practice. Hopefully your day is going well.  Namaste-which means the Divine within me honors the Divine within you!

Overcoming Anxiety:

This is not really a “quick tip,”  as it would take practice but like any practice it gets more productive over time.  I’m gonna highly recommend the Kundalini yoga teacher, Guru Rattana.  I discovered her online, here’s more about her and why I like her so much.

Mind/Air Element, Body/Earth Element, Emotions/Water Element, Spirit/Fire Element  are the primary groupings of videos at her site.  I”m a member and have found it truly fantastic.  Remember I’m a yoga teacher/practitioner of over fifteen years, and I”ve been feeling like I wanted more at this point. I asked Spirit to guide me to beneficial practices for me-soon thereafter I “stumbled” upon her site. And have since had a lovely phone conversation with her.

I’m finding that with my practice of various forms of yoga mostly vinyasa/flow, originally Kripalu and Ashtanga-they have laid a great foundation for the Kundalini yoga practice.  The latter is a bit different than what you may have been used to if you do “regular” yoga-there are a lot of quick repetitions of the posture, use of “breath of fire” and chanting while doing postures at times.  But check her out.  And you get 2 days FREE  to watch up to 10 videos as a trail period.

I’ve been doing it every day and loving it!  Check out her short intro video of Kundalini yoga. Guru Rattana’s teaching is available as a montly membership-only $7 gives access to a variety of Kundalini yoga classes.  I’ve been focusing on what’s been appropriate for me-the Earth and Fire ones.  I literally wake up excited to do the practices and see the effects as I try different ones.  As a yoga teacher I do find that it’s great to have a basis in some form of hatha yoga-simply meaning any of the common forms where you learn the postures;  so that means Kripalu, Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa etc..  They say Kundalini yoga is an accelerated form compared to other yoga’s and I do find that it moves energy strongly and directly,  so I recommend having a practice in hatha yoga for some time first.  That would have strengthened your body, your nervous system and prepared you for the Kundalini yoga practices.

Namaste, share any insights or tips relating to this post.
