#1/4 Get Massage Clients to Re-book

How to Get Massage Clients to Come Back is a big question whether you are new to the business of massage therapy or ongoing professional. I share 3 big tips that if you follow will bring massage clients back again and again to you.

This is exactly what I’m doing in my own practice.

Video Overview:
1. Set up Massage Packages:

  • Create packages that give a discount for 3 (minimum)- 10 sessions.
  • The drop-in rate needs to be more expensive to discourage drop-in’s.  Why are drops in not great (I’ll make another video, but mainly they don’t help the client much- little can be solved with sporadic care.) And you aren’t seen as very skilled because deeper issues don’t get resolved with one of sessions.

More info in this post Creating Massage Packages.

2. Educate the massage client specifically on what you do/have done to help their health issue. So you create a sense of the value of massage therapy with you.

  • Don’t have a generic “benefits” talk.  Instead from your intake form really design what you do with each client.  And after your first treatment, discuss 2-3 min., what you did to help them, in plain language to show your expertise and skills.
  • This time spent educating them, will help them to feel cared for and truly seen by you.
  • In fact send a short article on the issue if they seem interested-I typically send it via email, which I collect on intake form.

More info in this post Educate Clients on Your Benefits.

3. Ask– at the end of every session with every massage client, ask them to re-book.

  • Ask “would you like to make your next appointment?” And give them a chance to answer!  At first you might feel nervous asking them or feel pushy, but you are not.  If you believe you helped them then a wonderful thing to continue working with them.
  • Provide positive reasons such as:  “you get your favored appointment time.”  “Less likely to forget self-care, if it is on your calendar.”
  • Frequent, regular sessions will have better impact on their well-being. Be specific on their concern and how regularity supports improvement.

PRACTICE:

Get comfortable with each of these steps.  Even practice by yourself what you will say on steps 2 & 3.  It will get easier and your process will get smoother and more professional each time.

They will re-book! Here’s to your success.
