Beautiful Video of Mom Doing Yoga w/Kids Playing

Beautiful Video of Mom Doing Yoga w/Kids Playing

This was so sweet- I first saw it over at the Yogipreneur, Racheal Cooks site, and it moved me so much-even though I’m not a mom.  I’ve taken care of little ones. Then I found this quote on a Yoga Meditations calender: Practicing with total attention within the body is advanced Yoga, no matter how easy the posture;  practicing with your attention scattered is the practice of a beginner, no matter how difficult the posture. ~ H. David Coulter Her attention is in the present moment- most advanced! her children, her surroundings, their need to play and feel loved.  All while she continues her physical practice. And the music is so awesome it’s by: Alexi Murdoch called “Orange Sky.” Namaste,...

Author/Speaker, Wayne Dyer, on Why What You Think Matters

Just as he talks about to the end of the video where he envisioned himself on the Tonight Show as a kid, and many years later it happened; I’ve also had experiences like that were so beyond the odds of chance.   So if he’s new to you watch this video.  Here is another good one on “Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life.”   It’s 1 and half hours long, it’s one that was a PBS program. I know if one is depressed it’s hard to get to these ideas they can seem farfetched, but if one is in a more normal state of mind- this can take us to the  next level of achievement and joy.  Our minds are or can be under our control (for the most part.) not counting of course sub-concious elements that are there as well.  See any of my posts on meditation for the main way to change and improve our minds/feelings, so it serves us in a positive way. Daily Card Spritual Message-Is There a Yogic Way to Deal with Neighbor Issues?

Daily Card Spritual Message-Is There a Yogic Way to Deal with Neighbor Issues?

I’m sure you have a nagging issue that can sap your energy or turn you sour and angry at times.  I’m having some difficulties that have become ongoing with a neighbor.  As those of you who live in apartments know, the quarters are close, so sound, smells like cigarette smoke or damage from water or such can be a problem. Spirit said, when I did a reading for myself yesterday- “there is angry energy being directed at you.  Don’t fear, it can be overcome by strong feminine energy of love.”  And also by being directed to leave ones energy field- to go to Love or into the earth itself.  Well I did a contemplation on that. I tuned into the LIGHT THAT IS LOVE I felt a truly pure clear, loving energy around me like a protective aura.  Then easily went to work for the day.  Taking a break I felt led to pull a “daily card”  I used the The card I pulled was: LOVE, returning. As in returning to love. It said: RETURNING Real love is unconditional and absolutely sufficient in itself.  Love is our true nature and the substance of happiness.  Ultimately, there are only two emotions: love and fear.  It is our choice…. The card then gives an Intention, and then ones for Body, Mind & Spirit.  It also has quotes from spiritual leaders, writers etc. on the topic.   I’ll share the intention below, click the link to find out more about the deck and purchase on Amazon.* INTENTION: I choose to return to love, over and over again. Love is and I receive it...

Review: Om Namah Shivaya CD-Robert Gass

I’ve been loving this cd/digital? what are folks saying at this point?? Ok it’s by Robert Gass & On Wings of Song.  It’s amazing, I give it 4 stars. Product Description:  It’s two tracks only: Track 1: “Om Namaha Shivaya” for 43:30 so it’s very repetitive- but like a lullaby.  It’s voices in a harmonious choir (primarily female voices.) It’s slow tempo does not vary which is why I love it played very low for sleep. A Meaning of “Om Namaha Shivaya”- Homage to Shiva, there are always many levels of meaning to mantras.  Shiva is usually referred to as the God of Destruction (endings) but that does not convey the full meaning on even a basic level.  And certainly that sounds negative to Western ears.   It’s basically respect to Shiva this aspect of the Divine of which we are a part. See: http://www.swamij.com/om-namah-shivaya.htm for detailed explanation of mantra. Track 2: Is “Om” (Aum) for 17:14.  Also continuous chanting, blending “over 50 voices.”  It’s tone is deeper than the previous track…it’s very “droney” there is a brief pause between each long aum.  Unlike the previous track the voices sound more male and very deep (almost like that Tibetan throat singing, but not exactly) it doesn’t have the overtones of Tibetan throat singing (which I dont’ tend to like.) It’s worth it for the Om Namaha Shivaya (ANS) alone as mentioned the two tracks are very different.  You will likely love one or the other, best to give a listen at Amazon and just choose which you like. Why I love it: ANS:  wonderful to play to go off to...

Present Moment Awareness-Eckhart Tolle, Leads to Inspiration

Present Moment Awareness-Eckhart Tolle, Leads to Inspiration

Blessings, hope you had a chance to do your yoga/meditative practice today. I did the Kundalini Yoga “Spinal Series.”  I keep a notebook and rate the practice in terms of effects and with 4 stars being tops I give this one four stars.  I always feel a gentle current of energy flows in the spine and around the heart chakra specifically after doing that kriya.  Also the mind is clearer it’s said to enhance the flow of spinal fluid. Pulling a advice card whether Angel Cards or Eckhart Tolle’s Power of Now Cards is a regular practice of mine.  Share with you today’s result from the latter deck: PRESENT-MOMENT AWARENESS creates a gap not only in the stream of mind but also in the past-future continuum. Nothing truly new and creative can come into this world except through that gap, that clear space of infinite possibility. I then did the Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad meditation (link goes to YouTube video of it.)  I found that inspires creative inspiration. But it’s effect depends on what is needed and what emotions one might be exprienceing at the  time. So I find pulling card is always helpful to something in my day-as I went to wash dishes post practice I was particularly mindful and this idea came to me:  My inspiration is to offer private yoga to women doing a detox, whether juice or just a “clean diet” in order to heal or simply to feel better.  See more on my private yoga page or contact me. Blessings,...

Facing Calamity with Courage A Quote from Yogi Bhajan

Yogi Bhajan said: “Every calamity is the test of our reality. Never be afraid of it. Whenever you face calamity with your reality, you shall win because God shall be on your side.’ Guru Rattana a senior teacher and longtime student of his explains it this way:  In other words, if you put your attention on your inner reality where your mind has access to the universal mind, instead of focusing on your ‘illusions’ and fears about what has happened, you will get support from universal forces. Practice! -quote from Guru Rattana Ph.D. NEW MILLENNIUM BEING NEWSLETTER #179, March 1,...

Inspiration: Goethe Poem on Motivation, Manifesting Your Dreams & Goals

If you prefer to hear me read this quote, go here to YouTube: Inspiration: Motivational Quote from Goethe. According to the Goethe Society website actually the last part of this piece,  is a paraphrasing of the German philosopher, Goethe’s words by W. H. Murray in The Scottish Himalaya Expedition,1951 (the latter was an explorer.)   If you read Murray’s full version he actually says “I learned a deep respect for one of Goethe’s couplets.” He then paraphrases the “whatever you can…” final section.  The entire thing is really written by Murray but because he quoted the more famous Goethe, the whole piece ended up getting miss-attributed.   Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it! -W. H....

Contemplation: What Would Life Look Like if You Let Go of the Past?

This post is in response to Danielle Laporte’s burning question: What would you be more of if you let go of the past? it’s worth taking a jump over to her blog DanielleLaporte.com  to read the short, punchy piece that leads into that question. Her writing is imaginative and vibrant always!  To read others in the Burning Questions, click B&W box below.  So below is my answer, what’s yours? I would be more adventurous and BOLD! BOLDER! I might go live in a foreign country for a year or two, and not feel too old to do it!  Hmmm…also I can feel more energy to move forward to take risks as I contemplate the question.  Several people I admire have said once they really forgave some folks in their past-that their lives just took off! The act of forgiveness came up for me yesterday and now contemplating this question, I’m realizing that a lot of energy can be stored in upset or anger that we hold.  This even relates to my very last post about a woman who healed herself of cancer.  She states that it’s her huge change in diet and letting go of toxic people and emotions that created the healing space. I’m going to follow up on this with a video and post teaching a specific Forgiveness Meditation for you guys next....

Healing Cancer Naturally via Wholesome Fresh Foods Diet & Clearing of Toxic Emotions

An incredibly moving and uplifting story in this video, she was found cancer free within 4 months and later was able to have a baby.  I’ve seen too many folks healing from cancer via diet, and intense lifestyle change to think it’s a fluke or luck. The latter is what one commenter attributed her healing to (on Vimeo.) But if it is luck then we (society” and the medical industry) need to figure out what is making her and others like her so “lucky.”  My own experience and wisdom tells me other factors such as the emotional aspect she stresses is as important as dietary changes.  I’ve seen some people try last minute herbs or diet when very ill, but the underlying issues are not addressed, this does not seem to work as effectively! So it’s food, emotions, mind/spirit all cleansed and detoxed. I myself have healed illness (that the doctors offered no treatment for, just wait and see) by using Chinese herbs.  For another inspiring story and one healing approach check out Maya Tiwari‘s book’s.  She healed herself of cancer I want to say maybe 20 years ago?  She then stopped her career as a fashion designer and became a teacher, healer and more.  She has several excellent books on healing with Ayurveda (the tradtional medical system of India.) See also books by Carolyn Myss (on the spiritual and mental underpinnings of illness.)  A new age approach is the wonderful Louise Hay’s book You Can Heal Your...
